Dear Fellow Microbiologists:

On behalf of the Emirates Society of Clinical Microbiology (ESCM) board members, I would like to extend my warmest welcome to you as we establish our society and begin planning for activities. ESCM was established in May 2018 as part of the Emirates Medical Association (EMA) to set the highest standards of Clinical Microbiology practice and respond to the needs of Clinical Microbiologists in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). ESCM aims to encourage communication and promote scientific knowledge, education, research and professional development and ,ultimately, improve quality of care for patients suffering from infectious diseases.

ESCM provides a wide variety of services to its members including recent practice guidelines, essential educational resources and links in the ESCM website’s member area. ESCM also offers Free or discounted registration and continuing medical education (CME) credits in our quarterly presentations and annual conference. In addition, ESCM provides unique opportunities such as research groups and peer review Services. I hope that you can realise the tremendous benefits ESCM offers to its members and the opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills through education and through meeting other microbiologists from various Emirates in the UAE and other countries.
